The Dragon Wings Adoption Agency was once the idea of a little girl. She had grown up learning about dragons and imagining what they might look like. She pushed her way through school, always reading about the dragons, and learning how to care for every different species that was known.
One day, when she was walking home from school, her nose burried deep in a book about dragons, she started to hear something whining. She looked up, not exactly knowing what it was. She had lived here all her life, and she had never heard this kind of creature. With her curiousity intruiged she started to walked through the bushes, looking for the little creature that was in distress. She stumbled over a rock when she was very close to a fairly steap hill. And she started to roll down it. She knew she couldn't stop herself to she rolled into a ball, thinking it might help her if she hit something.
Withing a couple seconds she stopped rolling and stood up, her whole body aching from the rocks and logs she had hit on the way dwn. But she noticed that the crying had become louder then it had been before. She looked around, and to her right she saw a beautiful green dragon. She almost fell down from shock, but she kept herself from doing so. She slowly walk forward and the little dragon looked up to her with pleading eyes. She felt so sorry for it. She sat down gently next to it, looking at it and taking off her backpack. She couldn't figure out why the dragon was here. She pulled another book out of her backpack that was all about dragons. She started to read and came to the conclusion that the hatchlings mother must have been killed, or left it. She picked the little dragon up with some difficulty, due to it's squirming, and took it home with her. Little did she know this was just the begining.
She took care of the little egg for a long time until it was healthy again. She started to think about letting someone else adopt the little dragon. She knew someone would have to take it from her eventually because she couldn't take care of him forever. So she decided that once he was strong enough she would let someone adopt him. Of course, she wouldn't just let anyone adopt her pride and joy. It would have to be someone who fit the qualifications. But what should those qualifications be?
She continued to feed him and keep him occupied playing with something on her beedroom floor while she sat on the beed deciding what characteristics the adopter should have. Finally she had decided. She wrote them all out on a pice of paper, and went a little further. She started to make lists for each breed, because she was thinking that she would want this done already if she ever found another little dragon. Sure enough, it would be needed.
Within a week of her finding the little earth dragon, she was ready to let someone adopt him. She made little forms for the people to fill out when they came to try and adopt him. She then posted a little sign outside her home that said Dragon Wings Adopted. Taped to the large sign was a paper telling them all about the little dragon, and what he needed in a good home. She said that they could come to her home over the weekend to see him and decide if they wanted the responsability. It also said that it would cost 20gp. to adopt him. Sure enough people came.
She had a line on Saturday outside her door of people who wanted to see him. She brought a little desk outside her door, the forms, and pens. She each person in one by one to see him and if they wanted him, then she handed them a form. Many of the people loved him, saying he was the most adorable thing in the world.
So after everyone who wanted to see him had seen him, the little girl went to work to pick out who she though was best suited to be the caretaker of him. Once she had decided, she contacted the woman and asked her to pick him up.
After the first adoption the girl found herself getting more and more dragons, and adopting them out for money. She knew what she was going to do for the money though, she had the idea in mind.
Over many years she adopted out, many, many different dragons, and earned a lot of money. She moved from her original home with her parents, and created a large business area, with her home on the top floor. She used the money she had earned from adopting out Dragons to build this new store. She is now known as Lady Blackened Rose and is the leader of Dragon Wings. She still goes out and gets defenseless little dragons and adopt them out, but now, she has a little more help. She is always looking for some help, so just drop her a line as LadyBlackenedRose@yahoo.com.
